the theme in the center of passion 2010 was awakening, which louie spoke about the first night we were there. he told the story of Jesus going to wake up lazarus, and although it’s a story that i grew up hearing, he brought a new level of meaning to me (that’s actually one of my favorite things about louie). Jesus wasn’t afraid to wake lazarus up even after his sister warns that since he’s been in there for several days, he probably smells pretty rank. Jesus wasn’t afraid of what was behind the stone. he isn’t afraid of what’s behind my stone or your stone either. he wants to awaken and unbind me. those three sentences are still amazing to me. i don’t know. i mean, i know that he takes us as we are, but he isn’t afraid to come in after me no matter how badly i stink. what a great Savior. that’s whose name i want to make famous.
Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws,
we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts.
